Wealthtech startup PowerUp Money raises $10 million to expand services

Wealth management startup PowerUp Money has raised $10 million in a funding round led by Flourish Ventures, according to reports published in early November. Existing investors, including Peak XV, Accel, Blume Ventures, Kae Capital, 8i Ventures and DeVC, also participated.

The funding comes as technology-driven financial services companies compete to attract Indian consumers looking for digital tools to manage their money and investments.

Why wealth management is attracting investors
India's growing base of retail investors has created opportunities for companies offering investment products, financial planning tools and digital wealth management services.

Technology can help such businesses reach customers online and simplify parts of the investment process. However, attracting users is only one part of the challenge. Companies must also build trust, retain customers and ensure that their services meet applicable regulatory requirements.

The challenge of building a sustainable business
For wealthtech startups, revenue growth depends on their business model, customer engagement and ability to retain users over time. A large customer base does not automatically translate into profitability.

The fresh funding gives PowerUp Money additional capital to expand its services. Its next challenge will be to turn investor interest into sustainable business growth while operating in a competitive financial services market.
